Lexi proves a source of inspiration, and Pip's private life causes interest.

Over a cup of tea with Johnny, Pip offers to take David's place taking Tony to the Primestock show on Wednesday. Ruth's interested to hear that Alfie will also be there.

As Jill asks Elizabeth for advice on birthday presents for Freddie and Lily, Elizabeth admits she doesn't seem to know Freddie at all. For her wedding, Lilian has asked for prosecco instead of champagne, and Jill concludes that she must be distracted by the Melling scam. Jill tells Elizabeth about Christine being conned.

Having lost Carina, Ian's ready to give up on surrogacy. Kirsty empathises and Ian asks how she's doing. Kirsty's ok - in fact, she feel s ready for 'action'. Ian has to solve the problem of improving Christmas bookings at Grey Gables. He feels bad after shooting down Roy's idea too vehemently and says he doesn't blame Roy for losing Carina.

At the opening Gala for Les Soeurs Heureuses, Ian and Lexi assess the competition. Kirsty enjoys being Jill's plus one, as Peggy has pulled out to look after Christine. Meanwhile, Brian and Jennifer are disappointed to be away from the limelight. Kirsty and Lexi think Ian can do much better than the Duxfords. They brush aside Ian's modest protestations - he's going to create a brilliant Christmas menu.
