Join Mark Stephen and Euan McIlwraith for a sustainable tourism special.
Scotland is undergoing a tourism revolution. It's been voted the most beautiful country in the world to visit and visitor numbers are on the increase. But greater footfall is taking its toll in some places, particularly on Skye where the infrastructure is struggling to serve everyone. There's a call for more toilet facilities, parking spaces and improved roads.
Mark and Euan travel the country speaking to various people involved in the industry on Skye, Invergordon, Lochaber and Moray. Plus they speak to Cabinet Secretary for Tourism at the Scottish Government, Fiona Hyslop, who describes what she is doing to support these rural places. And they project into the future where internet algorithms could help manage the situation.
