At least 26 people have been killed and 20 others wounded after a gunman opened fire at a Baptist church in Texas during a Sunday service, that was packed with worshippers. The attack happened in the town of Sutherland Springs, 40 miles east of San Antonio at around 11:30 local time.

City centre safety in Derry is back in spotlight again this morning after another weekend attack. A man in his 30s was assaulted by four people outside a bar in Waterloo Street in the early hours of Friday morning, and was left with a broken rib and ankle. We have talked a lot on the programme about city centre safety since the death of teenager Jordan McConomy and the attack on Danny Payne which has left him in a critical condition in hospital. Last week, a multi-agency meeting was held. Suggestions have include staggered opening hours, more taxi ranks and an increased police presence.
