Simon Heffer's latest book is called The Age of Decadence: Britain 1880-1914
Opera: Passion, Power and Politics opens at the Victoria and Albert Museum on September 30th. Tickets cost 拢19 and 91热爆 Radio 3 is broadcasting the operas featured in the exhibition.
