Word has travelled that Adam and Ian are thinking of adopting. Ian asks Oliver about his experience fostering. Oliver can't pretend it was easy, but it was exciting and rewarding; never a dull moment. Ian also speaks to Roy about fatherhood. Roy found it exhausting, especially in the early days, but states it's the best thing he's ever done. Ian's worried that he's jinxed the adoption by telling people too soon.

Toby's demanding new girlfriend Kitty wants to meet Pip. Pip, thinking it's weird, isn't keen but Tracy persuades her to reconsider. After the abrupt way Pip dumped Toby the least she can do is help him now.

At The Bull Roy recognises Kitty - two weeks ago she was calling herself Kit and dating him. Tracy makes Toby buy her a drink to thank her for bringing Pip, and then interrogates him about Kitty. Tracy mentions the drinks Toby bought her and Pip to Kitty, who takes it badly. Pip takes the opportunity to escape without meeting Kitty. Seeing the trouble Toby's having with Kitty, Roy's very glad to be with Lexi now. Ian encourages him to make the most of it, and they drink to their futures being brighter than Toby's.
