The education secretary announces more than a billion pounds extra funding for schools in England. And the government reveals its preferred HS2 northern branch routes.

The Education Secretary Justine Greening says an extra 1.3 billion pounds a year is being made available for schools in England. It'll be raised from savings within her department's budget. It's confirmed that new homes on a housing estate in Mexborough, near Sheffield, will be bulldozed as part of plans for HS2. Plus there's a look at Sjogren's Syndrome following Venus Williams' run at Wimbledon.
