A former worker at a multinational chemical firm has won the right to pass on his full pension rights to his male partner.

Employers were previously allowed to discriminate against same sex couples if they'd paid into a pension fund before December 2005.

But now the Supreme Court ruled that John Walker is entitled to pass on the same benefits to a husband as a wife.
