Barry Norman, has died at the age of 83.

As the presenter of what was the only regular movie review programme on TV, Barry became the nation's Number One film critic between 1972 - when he first took over the programme - to 1998 when he departed for Sky.

He was so well known he had his own Spitting Image puppet. He also wrote for the Daily Mail and the Guardian, and his last contribution to the Radio Times can still be read in this week's edition.
