Every year 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a result of an accident or illness and many have to live with ongoing, long-term difficulties. The Children’s Trust gives children and young people with brain injury and neurodisability opportunities to live the best life possible, by providing specialist rehabilitation, education and community services across the UK.

Each child receives a personalised intensive rehabilitation programme, with therapists ensuring children are having fun whilst relearning skills they have lost.

This month Joely visited the Children’s Trust and enjoyed sunshine in the garden with Rhea.

The Children’s Trust offers a friendly, non-clinical home from home environment, where children and their families are encouraged to take part in activities and make use of the outside space to aid rehabilitation.  

The Play Team works directly with children, organising fun activities and day trips – things that can make the crucial difference to a child’s rehabilitation and help rebuild self-esteem.
