Justine Greening, Tim Farron
Jenni Murray speaks to secretary of state for education Justine Greening and Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron. Plus Ramadan and eating disorders.
Woman's Hour has invited the leaders of the political parties to talk about their manifestos ahead of the General Election and what they would do for women. Jenni is joined by the leader of the Liberal Democrats Tim Farron.
We also talk to Justine Greening about the Conservative Party's manifesto. Amber Rudd had been due to take part. Theresa May declined our earlier invitation.
Widely considered the most important date in the Islamic calendar, the month of Ramadan is now well underway. Fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, and every year during Ramadan all Muslims are required to fast every day from dawn to sunset. Whilst special dispensations from fasting exist (e.g. for those who are ill, pregnant or nursing, menstruating, traveling, and for young children and the elderly), often this month can exacerbate eating disorders. Maha Khan, founder of the 'Islam and Eating Disorders' blog, talks about her experience.
