Sara, Keren and Siobhan of Bananarama red button special
Sara Cox chats to newly reunited Bananarama to talk about their music, their 80s experiences, and what it will be like to tour together as the original line-up for the first time!
Sara chats to the newly reunited Bananarama to talk about their 80s.
Bananarama were THE biggest girl-group of their eighties - with their punk attitude, quirky pop and credibility. The trio - Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward and Siobhan Fahey - enjoyed a string of hits including Really Saying Something, Robert De Niro's Waiting and Shy Boy, shifting some 40 million records worldwide. In the process, they earned themselves an entry in The Guinness Book Of World Records as having the most worldwide chart entries of any all-female group. However, as with many great relationships, cracks began to show and, by the late eighties, Siobhan quit the group citing that well-used phrase artistic differences. However, putting aside past animosity and, following the sudden death of their close friend George Michael, the original line up of Sara, Karen and Siobhan decided that life was too short to miss the opportunity of performing together. They will tour the UK in November and December - billed as the One Time Only Tour - it's actually the ONLY time Sara, Keren and Siobhan will have toured together! A first and final tour.
