The English jazz musician Mike Westbrook guests, playing live and discussing some of his favourite Duke Ellington records.
Mike has been a leading light in the contemporary British jazz scene for over 60 years, as a band leader, player, and composer. His work encompasses art, theatre, cabaret, cinema and poetry alongside music, and he has performed as a soloist, as the leader of the Mike Westbrook Trio, Brass Band and Orchestra and as one half of a duo with his wife Kate.
He released his first album in 1967, and his most recent work came out at the end of last year; he was awarded the OBE in 1988.
