Asian Network Presents looks back at one of Bollywood's highest grossing movies, 'Maine Pyar Kiya'.

Directed by Sooraj Barjatya and starring Salman Khan and Bhagyashree, ''Maine Pyar Kiya' was released in 1989 in a decade when films tended to be about angry young men and spangly disco outfits.

Raj and Pablo tell the story of a time when cinema's halls were emptying and film production houses were suffering, 'Maine Pyar Kiya' dragged family audiences back to see movies on the big screen.

Starring unknown actors and a large number of big-musical numbers including 'Kabooter Ja Ja', 'Mere Rang Mein' and 'Dil Deewana', the film was not only a hit in India
but overseas too, breaking all box-office records set at the time.

The stars and those involved behind-the-scenes reminisce about the film that brought family-centric cinema back to the big screens.
