Fitzpatrick Family
Four years after a trial week in Auckland opened up the possibility of Billy and his family moving to New Zealand, where do they now live?
Back in 2012, the Fitzpatrick family experienced a trial week in Auckland. After years spent dreaming about emigrating, prison officer Billy was hoping the trip would show his wife Beth that the country offered a better future for their two young sons. But used to life in the Scottish village where she had grown up, Beth wasn't willing to jump into relocating to a country she had never even visited without careful consideration, especially as it would mean cutting close ties to her mum.
When New Zealand's properties failed to impress her, Billy's chances of pursuing the dream life he wanted looked shaky. But after witnessing how much the lifestyle would suit her sons, things started to turn around, and Billy was delighted when, at the end of the week, the whole family voted to make the country their home. Four years on, we find out which side of the world the family call home.

Fitzpatrick Family Update
We caught up with the Fitzpatrick family recently and they are still loving their life in New Zealand. Beth’s mum and her friends visited the family recently, which they really enjoyed.
Billy's working in the same job but is also in the process of starting up a property maintenance company. He's also discovered growing his own veggies and takes great pride in his veggie patch.
Paul is now in his second year at high school and is loving it. His dreams came true last week when he got to meet Sir David Attenborough in Auckland!
Lucas is now in year three at school and loves all sports, especially playing touch rugby and football.
The Fitzpatrick family also now have a new addition to their family – a Shar Pei called Meisha.
The family are living in the same house but there have been lots off décor changes since filming and they are enjoying putting their own stamp on the place. We wish the Fitzpatrick family the very best with their future in New Zealand!
