Call You and Yours: Has your child's school been hit by public spending cuts?

Consumer phone-in. Has your child's school been hit by public spending cuts?

Call You & Yours - has your child's school been affected by spending cuts?

A survey of more than 1,000 schools by the National Association of Head Teachers suggests that many school budgets in England are close to breaking point. Nearly three quarters of the heads polled were only able to balance their budgets by making cuts or dipping into reserves. The union says that 98% of schools are losing funding at a time when costs are rising and pupil numbers are growing.

But the Department for Education says that school funding will be over 拢40bn in 2016-17 - its highest level on record. A spokesman told the 91热爆 that the government's fairer funding proposals will not only see more than half of England's schools receive a cash boost in 2018-19 but will also give head teachers certainty over their future budgets.

We would like to know what is happening at your child's school. Are you aware of spending cuts? How do they affect your child's education? If you are a teacher, what changes have you seen?
