It happens every year. The harsh Norwegian winter turns mountain roads into bob sleigh tracks, and forces hundreds of 50-tonne trucks off the road. Ice Road Rescuers follows the daredevil Norwegian towing teams who set out to rescue these trucks and trailers on the icy mountains and get them back on track.
Enter Thord Paulsen and his crew in Odda, and lone wolf Bjorn Laegreid in neighbouring Eidfjord, both competing to be the best Road Rescuer. Despite the lack of snow, a Polish truck driver is unfortunate and hits a rare patch ice.
Thord and Olav come across a Turkish driver far away from home without the tyres and chains required in Norway and in Hardanger, Bjorn is called out to help a truck that has been blown over by the wind.
