Call You and Yours: Are parents ignoring their children's weight problem?
Consumer phone-in. Are parents ignoring their children's weight problem? A survey suggests they are.
Are parents ignoring their children's weight problem? A study published today suggests that many are. Official figures indicate that more than 30% of 2-15 year olds in Britain are overweight or obese, but a new survey suggests that only nine per cent of parents believe that their child is overweight. Aviva, who commissioned the survey, suggest that this leaves more than two million children in an "obesity awareness gap".
Is your child overweight? Have you taken action to help them tackle it? Are you perhaps kidding yourself that there is no problem? Are we failing our children by overlooking their weight, or are parents being unfairly blamed? We want to hear your experience. E-mail us - youandyours@bbc.co.uk and don't forget to leave a phone number, so we can call you back. Then join us for Call You & Yours at 12.15 on Tuesday 18th October.
