Edi Stark sits in for Janice Forsyth and talks to Joan Armatrading, plus she hears about the BFI's Black Star film season.

Joan Armatrading, legendary singer-songwriter talks to Edi about her recent 235-date world tour and about the CD and DVD she's just released.

The BFI's Black Star season of films, celebrating black acting talent, will be screened across Scotland from this month until December. Edi speaks to Nigerian director Olumide Fadeyibi, whose film The Champagne Room is part of the Nollywood Nights strand, and to Syma Ahmed from the Glasgow Women's Library, which is hosting one of the strands.

Thelma & Michael: Love in the Cutting Room, broadcast tomorrow morning on 91热爆 Radio 4, is a very moving love story in which multi award winning film director Martin Scorsese plays the role of Cupid. It tells the story of the relationship between Thelma Schoonmaker, Scorsese's long-time Oscar-winning film editor, and her husband Michael Powell, who together with Emerich Pressburger made some of the most remarkable films of the 1940s and 50s, includingThe Red Shoes. Producer Trevor Dann will be in studio.

Irish singer Lisa Hannigan, whose gorgeous vocals shimmered on Damian Rice's 2002 hit album O, is in session, showcasing tracks from her latest solo album, her third, At Swim.

Theatre: Luminate, Scotland's Creative Ageing Festival, is running throughout Scotland this month and anintriguing piece of theatre called HIM is at The Traverse in Edinburgh from tomorrow until Saturday. It's a reflection on life, stillness and the nature of ageing, starring Tim Barlow and written by Tim's long-time collaborator Sheila Hill.

And Don Paterson, twice winner of the TS Eliot Prize for poetry, talks about returning to his first love, music, with gigs in Inverness and Greenock this week with his new band, The Don Paterson Situation.
