Anuradha Paudwal Presents

With one of the most sought-after voices of the 1990s, Anuradha Paudwal picks musical milestones from her life and career, and talks about the hurdles faced by Bollywood singers.

Singer Anuradha Paudwal presents, picking the songs that mean the most to her.

Beginning her singing career in the early 80's, Anuradha grew up in awe of her childhood heroine, Lata Mangeshkar. But with recording studios only booking Lata and her sister Asha Bhosle, Anuradha's big break came when she began working with the new recording kid on the block, T Series.

Headed by the late Gulshan Kumar, it's first release 'Aashiqui' in 1989 catapulted Anuradha's voice, making her one of the most sought after voices in Bollywood in the 90's. Her voice then became synonymous with the decade's number one actress, Madhuri Dixit, with tracks such as 'Dhak Dhak', 'Mujhe Neend Na Aaye' and 'Bahut Pyar Karte Hain'.

Listen to this programme as Anuradha talks about the hurdles of being a Bollywood singer and hear the songs that have all left an indelible mark.
