With the Rio Olympics under way, Max takes a sonic tour of the city with Lewis Robinson, an expert on the country's alternative music scene and founder of independent record label Mais Um Discos. Although home to its own thriving underground music scene, Rio often finds itself overshadowed by the musical breadth of rival city S茫o Paulo. Lewis lifts the lid on the scenes making waves in Rio right now from Wobble Bass to noise rock.

Elsewhere in the programme Max pulls out the lesser-heard side of Brazilian music from Candomble field recordings from the 1940s, tape experiments by Jorge Antunes from the 1960s, contemporary baile bass and choral music set to the sound of the Amazon.
