There were some familiar faces to the fore 12 months ago at the All England Club, with Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams lifting the men's and women's titles.
Defending champion Djokovic secured his third Wimbledon title by beating seven-time winner Roger Federer in a repeat of the 2014 men's final.
Wiliams's victory over Spain's Garbine Muguruza - her sixth in south west London - saw her complete the so-called 'Serena Slam' - holding all four Grand Slam titles at the same time.
