Neither side has ever won the competition and Palace last reached the final in 1990, when the club's current manager Alan Pardew scored the winning goal against Liverpool.

Watford have only triumphed in one of their five previous semi-finals, in 1984, but have enjoyed an excellent first season back in the Premier League and reached this stage for the first time since 2007 by knocking out holders Arsenal in the last round.
