Poet Jackie Kay

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie are joined by Jackie Kay, who was recently named National Poet of Scotland.

Joined by the recently-named National Poet of Scotland, Jackie Kay, who's here to talk about a new commission - 30 Days of the Smiths - in which she interviews people called 'Smith' who live in Salford. Using clips of these interviews mixed with music by The Smiths and a new poem by Jackie, artist Oberman Knocks will create a soundscape that will be presented as part of an arts festival.

And apart from that, YOU, the actual listener, will have the chance to be on the wireless by taking part in the never-ending Chain of conjoined records - or huddle round the office DAB speaker with your choice of afternoon beverage to gain victory in today's Teatime Themetime.
