Coverage from Hampden Park of the Scottish League Cup final between Hibernian and Ross County.
Hibernian clinched their place in the final by beating St Johnstone 2-1 in the semi-final. Ross County upset the odds to beat Celtic 3-1 at Hampden to reach their first League Cup final. Hibernian have been rejuvenated under manager Alan Stubbs and have high hopes of returning to the top flight for next season. They have won this competition three times before, the last time being a 5-1 victory over Kilmarnock in March 2007. A 19-year-old Lewis Stevenson was in the side that day and won the man-of-the-match award. Stevenson, now an Easter Road veteran, will be hoping to collect his second winners' medal this afternoon. Meanwhile, 21-year-old midfielder John McGinn, who scored in the last-four win over St Johnstone, also has a League Cup winners' medal in his collection, having been part of the St Mirren side which beat Hearts in the 2013 final.
Premiership side Ross County were formed in 1929 and played in the Highland League until the 1994/95 season, when they were admitted to the Third Division. They are managed by Jim McIntyre, who kept County in the top league last season and has built a squad that is pushing for a top-six finish this term. Ross County have played in a Hampden final before, having reached the Scottish Cup final in 2010, but they ultimately lost 3-0 to Dundee United. Hoping to grab the goals to help them go one better and lift the Scottish League Cup will be Northern Ireland international and top-scorer Liam Boyce.
