Heather Dewar explores some of the most remote and picturesque villages along Scotland's coast. She visits the Minginish peninsula and gets a view of the magnificent Cuillin Ridge.

Islay-born Heather Dewar visits some of Scotland's most picturesque and remote coastal communities. Travelling through mainland villages, Hebridean communities and vast peninsulas she realises that you don't need to live on an island to experience the life of an islander.
In the first programme in the series, Heather travels to Sligachan in central Skye. From Thomas Telford's beautiful stone bridge, she begins her journey west through the Minginish peninsula. She takes in the breathtaking view of the Cuillin Ridge as she walks with Danny Macleod to the Fairy Pools in Glen Brittle.
On a beach in Eynort, she goes in search of the razor clam - a type of shellfish she hasn't seen before.
And fisherman Calum MacKinnon helps her fulfil a long held ambition - to see a sea eagle at close range.
