More about the programme
Eye on Wales joins a small group of volunteers from Cardiff as they head for Dunkirk in northern France with a van full of supplies for some of the 3,000 refugees who have been swept up in the European migrant crisis and deposited in a makeshift camp in the Channel port.
Nelli Bird travels with the group to see the conditions in the camp for herself and to find out what motivates these volunteers – and hundreds like them across the UK – to spend their precious weekends on such gruelling expeditions to Britain’s doorstep.
