Ann an dh脿 no tr矛 sheachdainean feuchaidh iad an tuarasdal bhliadhnail aca a dh猫anamh a dh'aindeoin trioblaidean teicnigeach, s矛de chaochlaideach, daoine a' dol an aghaidh a ch猫ile agus poilis na st脿ite a' cumail s霉il gheur orra.
'S e an d脿rna l脿 de dh' iasgach a th' ann, anns a' Chaolas Cook agus le cho soirbheachail 's a bha a' chiad l脿, tha na h-iasgairean an d貌chas gum bi an-diugh a cheart cho math. 'S e co-dh霉naidhean nan iasgairean a tha a' sti霉ireadh mar a th猫id dhaibh agus dh' fhaodadh am breithneachadh sin buaidh a thoirt air beatha gach iasgair. Chan ann a-mh脿in argamaidean a tha a' cur bacadh air na b脿taichean an-diugh, tha uidheamachd cuideachd a' dol ce脿rr agus a' cur stad air c脿ch.
Every summer, schools of salmon swim from the Pacific Ocean through the Cook Inlet and up more than one hundred rivers and streams to spawn in what is an epic migration. Waiting at the end of their journey are the Alaskan fishermen, ready to net the catch of a lifetime. They attempt to make an entire annual wage in a few short weeks while facing mechanical breakdowns, unpredictable weather, heated confrontations and rigorous state police patrolling.
It's the second day of fishing on Cook Inlet, and after getting a taste of the profits that can be earned on the first opening, the fishermen are looking to fill their boats with wild Alaskan salmon. Decisions are the mark of the day as the fishermen live and die by their judgment and intuition, and inner battles aren't their only woes on the water as they are also plagued by faulty gear.
