Sir David Attenborough examines the mysteries behind some of nature's most fascinating creatures and plants.

Some animals have turned the ordinary into the extraordinary. The giraffe has a stretched neck that has intrigued us for centuries, while the chameleon has an elongated tongue that was once thought to be the work of the devil. Nature can baffle us so much we don't believe what we see. The discovery of the platypus so confused the greatest thinkers of Victorian Europe, some questioned whether it was even real.
