A look back at the career of legendary New Orleans songwriter, producer and performer Allen Toussaint who died aged 77 on the 10th of November. Featuring work from every part of Allen's long career including recordings by Frankie Miller, Lee Dorsey, The Meters, Dr. John and The Pointer Sisters. Plus tracks from The River, Allen's acclaimed 2006 collaboration with Elvis Costello and solo performances from the album Songbook. Paul Jones also looks back to a 2007 interview with Allen Toussaint in which he discusses his approach to songwriting, production and surviving Hurricane Katrina.
