Author Ian Rankin chats to Simon about his latest Rebus book 'Even Dogs in the Wild'. Plus there's another daft listener confession for he collective to mull over - but will they forgive?

Ian Rankin is the UK's number one best-selling crime writer. He writes about his hometown of Edinburgh in his award-winning 'Inspector Rebus' and 'Malcolm Fox' novels.

The first Rebus novel Knots and Crosses, was published in March 1987. The intervening years have seen a further nineteen Rebus novels, and their creator make a meteoric rise to international bestseller. After retiring him in Exit Music, 2012 saw the return of Rebus in the number one bestseller Standing in Another Man's Grave.

The books have twice been dramatised for TV (starring John Hannah and Ken Stott respectively), and are translated into 36 languages!
