A committee of MPs urges the government not to rush in to a vote on launching British air strikes in Syria.

Number 10 insists the Government has not changed its position on Syria after a committee of MPs urges the Prime Minister against a vote on UK air strikes against Islamic State militants. The Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, has confirmed that the Government is to consult on plans to reintroduce national tests for seven year olds in English schools. And we hear tributes to British actor and screenwriter Colin Welland - who won an Oscar for scripting 'Chariots of Fire' - who has died aged 81.
