#Spooky6Music - Help compile a scary music playlist

Nemone sits in for Tom Robinson and asks 6 Music listeners to curate a scary, unsettling and macabre playlist via #Spooky6Music.

This week, to mark the creepiest weekend of the year, we want you to scare the crap out of us. Give us your most demonic, deranged, unhinged, terrifying tunes so we can create a chilling Halloween playlist.

We're not really after novelty scary songs. Thanks but no thanks Bobby Pickett's 'Monster Mash'; the chances are we'll end up playing Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' but you can do so much better than that. What we're after is a much darker, menacing and more macabre selection of songs that mess with your mind and chill your spine.

Ever listened to Black Sabbath's 'Black Sabbath' at full volume in the dark? That iconic three-note riff, Ozzy's vocal terror and the thunderstorm at the beginning, they don't make 'em like that any more. Did you know it was inspired by a true story?

Did you also know the members of Motley Crue witnessed knives and forks shooting into the ceiling while recording second album 'Shout at the Devil'? Does KoRn's 'Shoots and Ladders' really freak you out? Then this is your time to shine. Give us your scariest songs of all time.

It's not all about rock and metal. Aphex Twin's 'Window Licker' is pretty frightening. Q Lazzarus' 'Goodbye Horses' is used to great effect by Buffalo Bill in Silence of The Lambs, and I don't know why but I've always found Status Quo's 'In The Army Now' totally unsettling.

Get YOUR scary song suggestions to Nemone - including the reasons WHY - via the hashtag #Spooky6Music to help create a playlist. Comment on the Now Playing Facebook page, here on the blog, email nowplaying@6music.co.uk or drag tracks onto our Spotify and Rdio playlists.

p.s. We know it's Halloween on Saturday, not Sunday, but we're still doing a spooky playlist...just....because.
