Ian Rankin, Kathryn Joseph and the monthly book group
Janice Forsyth has a live session from Kathryn Joseph and the first meeting of her monthly book group, plus an hour-long profile of author Ian Rankin, creator of Rebus.
Today our whole second hour will be dedicated to Ian Rankin, in our first ever Wednesday Profile. In an interview recorded with Janice at the Boswell Book Festival, Ian looks back on his career to date and, of course, his most famous creation, Inspector Rebus, the old-school cop in today's modern world.
The Scottish Album of the Year awards longlist is out and on it is a very distinctive album by singer-songwriter Kathryn Joseph, brilliantly titled 'bones you have thrown me and blood i've spilled'. She plays live in our 91热爆 Glasgow studio.
Janice holds the inaugral meeting of our monthly book group! She's joined by comedian Susan Morrison and novelist Laura Marney. They've all been reading Mark Haddon's smash hit "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time". What did you think of it? Give us your thoughts on JaniceForsythShow@bbc.co.uk or tweet us, we're @91热爆JFCulture.
And- Scottish writer and actress Fiona Geddes talks to us about the experience of writing her play about a young woman's journey of understanding while caring for her schizophrenic relative.
