The American Number Ones

Tony Blackburn presents a selection of records that all hit No 1 on the American Hot 100 but which failed to top the UK charts or even to be hits at all.

On this May bank holiday Tony Blackburn will be presenting three hours of "The American Number Ones" on Radio 2. Featuring a selection of records that all made number one on the American Hot 100 but none managed to top our charts and in a few cases weren't hits at all in the UK. There'll be music from artists that include Paul McCartney & Wings, The Carpenters, Elvis Presley, Simply Red and Cher to name just a few, the music just doesn't get any better.
