Labour and the Conservatives say they will renew our nuclear deterrent with the price is estimated between 拢15-30 billion. Is Trident the best strategy, the best value for money?

The Conservatives say maintaining our nuclear deterrent at a current level is key to our national security. Labour's Defence spokesman told this programme they ARE committed to maintaining Trident at current levels. The SNP say there are NO circumstances in which they would vote for renewal - it's a "red line".

The Government says the price of renewing Trident is between 拢15-30 billion. The amount of cuts the Treasury says are needed in the next Parliament? 拢30bn..... HS2? 拢50bn...... Opponents like CND say the true cost of Trident over its lifetime could be 100bn. Would you rather that money be spent elsewhere or it is a fair price for our national security?
