Hildegard von Bingen's Symphonia

To mark International Women's Day Sara Mohr-Pietsch explores music by female composers spanning nine centuries. The Choral Classic is Hildegard von Bingen's Symphonia.

Marking International Women's Day, Sara Mohr-Pietsch explores choral music by female composers spanning nine centuries - from Hildegard von Bingen's Symphonia, today's Choral Classic, to a live performance from the all-female 'punk choir' Gaggle. Sara is also joined in studio by the girls' choir of St Catharine's College, Cambridge and guest soloist, mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, to give the world premiere of a new commission by recent Cambridge graduate Rhiannon Randle.
