Lauren Laverne lights the touchpaper of excitement and anticipation with a special outside broadcast as 91热爆 Radio 6 Music launches the 6 Music Festival 2015.

Today 91热爆 Radio 6 Music launches the 6 Music Festival 2015. Following last year's inaugural event at The Victoria Warehouse, this year's will be even bigger and better than before, and in a different part of the UK.

With drum-roll and fanfare, Lauren Laverne lights the touch paper of excitement and anticipation with a special outside broadcast, live from this year's 6 Music Festival location - all will be revealed on the day.

Lauren Laverne said: "Last year's first ever 6 Music Festival from the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester was an incredible weekend featuring a fabulous line-up of music plus conversation at the Festival Fringe. It was great to meet so many of our listeners as we listened to the great and good perform together. This year's 6 Music Festival is going to be one to remember. Tune in today to find out all about it."

Kicking off the countdown to what promises to be an epic weekend for music lovers, across the day, from Lauren through to Marc Riley, 6 Music's presenters will reveal the incredible line-up - one which reflects the spirit of 6 Music. This year's Festival is from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 February, and features an ever-growing bill of over 50 bands and artists, with three days of live music and conversation, both day and night.
