Roy Jenkins talks to Welsh language poet Menna Elfyn about her life and work, from her non-conformist background to the many causes to which she has leant her voice.

Another chance to hear a programme first broadcast in 2015, featuring Roy Jenkins in conversation with the Welsh language poet Menna Elfyn who had just been made the inaugural president of the Welsh centre of PEN, the international writers鈥� organisation which promotes access to literature and defends freedom of expression. Roy asks her about her life and her work, from her non-conformist background which continues to influence her, to the many national and international causes to which she has leant her voice. The programme also includes Menna鈥檚 own readings of her poetry, in English translation.
