Documentary following a group of students at the Hair Academy. The company's annual Congress is the highlight of the Academy's calendar and only the best students get to attend.
It is six months in and our students' individual styles are coming through as confidence builds. Student Kathryn goes for the Marilyn Monroe look and Austin piles on the fake tan! Austin struggles with a French pleat, and Binky calls in her uncle Gerry to be a model but has to get to work, so the clock is ticking for Binky to finish. The company's annual Congress is the highlight of the Academy's calendar and only the best students will get to attend based on their portfolio submissions. Competition is fierce as we find out which of our featured students will be successful. Strict teacher Leigh shows her softer side as she organises a charity line-dancing party in memory of her mother who died of cancer. Hairdressers at a yeeha line-dancing event is something else! Student Mark from Bearsden salon loses his battle with dermatitis and his allergic reaction to the products sadly puts an end to his Rainbow Room hairdressing career. The big Congress Day activities inspire and challenge students and stylists alike and the 200-strong attendees let their hair down in the evening for the glam awards ceremony.
