The grandson of Fateh Ali Khan, the son of 'The Harmonium King' Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan and the nephew of the legendary Nusrat Fatheh Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is from a family which is steeped in and has formed the history of Qawwali and Islamic Sufi music in the Indian sub-continent.
Despite his background Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has carved his own career as one of the foremost singers of popular Bollywood music.
