Wear Your Old Band T-Shirt to Work Day 2014

It's Steve Lamacq's seventh annual Wear Your Old Band T-Shirt to Work Day and he celebrates its culmination on the day's show.

Steve hosts his seventh annual 'Wear Your Old Band T-Shirt to Work Day' show, with listeners across the country encouraged to don their most treasured band t-shirts for this very special day. Previous years have seen participants sporting their tees on building sites, under lab coats, and in classrooms with some standing out from the crowd as a lone band t-shirt wearer, with others uniting entire offices to get involved. Earlier this week Steve tasked listeners with designing their very own band t-shirt - perhaps to commemorate the greatest ever gig they've been to or that one concert they wish been at or simply their favourite band of all time. And today Steve will reveal which design he has chosen to be printed and that he will wear for the final hour of the show. The lucky winner will be revealed live on air and will receive a bundle of t-shirts hand-designed by several 6 Music presenters, musicians and artists.

Listeners should send in their pics to #6musictshirtday showcasing their true colours and musical allegiances through the medium of their fave band t-shirt. And some lucky listeners will be randomly selected to receive a t-shirt specially designed by Sheffield artist, Pete McKee. The Yorkshireman has worked with musicians including Richard Hawley, The Arctic Monkeys and Oasis.

Join the celebration #6musictshirtday.
