Families During War
Wartime history series. Sophie Raworth and former army officer Andy Torbet meet former evacuee and award-winning author of War Horse, Michael Morpurgo.
In the first of a new series, Sophie Raworth and former army officer Andy Torbet honour heroes of war, both on the battlefield and the home front. Joining them at the newly refurbished Imperial War Museum in London is award-winning author of War Horse and former evacuee, Michael Morpurgo.
Also, a former evacuee is reunited with the man who became her brother during the Second World War, Sophie takes an access-all-areas tour of the museum's new First World War gallery, and Andy reveals how you can discover the truth about your own relatives who fought in the First World War. There's also a moving performance from the Poppy Girls, who all have fathers serving in the forces.
