Simon welcomes bestselling author Ian McEwan to the Radio 2 Book Club, to discuss his latest novel The Children Act.

Ian McEwan's works have earned him worldwide critical acclaim. He has been shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction numerous times and was awarded a CBE in 2000. The Children Act is the latest Radio 2 Book Club choice. It follows the story of Fiona Maye, a leading High Court judge, who is presiding over cases in the family court. She is renowned for her fierce intelligence, exactitude and sensitivity. But her professional success belies private sorrow and domestic strife. There is a lingering regret of her childlessness, and now her marriage of thirty years is in crisis.
