Lee Child
Simon Mayo talks to award-winning author Lee Child about the new Jack Reacher novel, Personal.
Award-winning author Lee Child joins Simon in the Radio 2 Book Club to talk about the new Jack Reacher novel, 'Personal'.
Lee Child was born in Coventry, studied law at Sheffield University, and worked at Granada Television for 18 years during British TV's "golden age." During his tenure his company made Brideshead Revisited, The Jewel in the Crown, Prime Suspect, and Cracker. But he was fired in 1995 at the age of 40 as a result of corporate restructuring. Always a voracious reader, he sat down to write a book, Killing Floor, the first in the Jack Reacher series. It was an immediate success and launched the series which has grown in impact with every new installment. 'Personal' will be the 19th Jack Reacher novel.
