Since bursting onto the blues scene in 2007 with his dazzling debut album Magic Touch, John has wowed critics and audiences alike with his exciting vocals and his powerful brand of harmonica virtuosity.
Born in 1976 in rural Idaho, N茅meth grew up in Boise, where his first exposure to music was singing in the Catholic Church. From there he started playing in local bands as a teenager. He was 17 when a friend, Tom Moore, exposed him to the blues, and together they formed Fat John & the 3 Slims.
John's latest recording, Memphis Grease, was released to great acclaim earlier this year. On this Maida Vale session John talks to Paul Jones about his musical influences and performs 4 cuts from the album. These include Sooner or Later, Bad Luck is My Name and If It Ain't Broke.
