Live coverage of day eight of the Commonwealth Games, presented by Gary Lineker.

David Rudisha of Kenya was one of the stars of the London 2012 Olympics, claiming 800m gold in a world-record time in East London and he'll attempt to take the Commonwealth title tonight. Similarly, David Weir captured the imagination at the London 2012 Paralympics by winning four gold medals. The wheelchair racer only has one chance for Commonwealth gold and it comes in tonight's T54 1500m.

England's Shara Proctor should contend in the final of the women's long jump, but she will face stiff competition from Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria, who won a silver at the 2013 World Championships.

Also at Hampden Park, Glasgow 2014 poster girl Eilidh Child will look to turn a silver medal from Delhi four years ago into a Commonwealth title in the 400m hurdles.
