Brazil's talisman Neymar inspired them to a 2-0 victory over Mexico at the same venue in 2013's Confederations Cup, only their fourth win in 12 matches between the nations since the turn of the century.

Mexico have since changed their coach several times, with current incumbent Miguel Herrera overhauling his squad in the wake of a turbulent World Cup qualifying campaign.
