An Extended Evening With... James Lavelle
James Lavelle, curator of the 2014 Meltdown festival, joins Nemone to discuss his influences and pick a selection of his favourite records.
As he continues his work as curator of this year's Meltdown festival, James Lavelle takes time out from his hectic schedule to discuss the records that have defined his precocious career.
James is one of Britain's most respected electronic music pioneers. Having launched Mo' Wax records as a teenager, he went on to form UNKLE with DJ Shadow, and has worked with artists as diverse as Radiohead, Joshua Homme and 3D from Massive Attack.
Here, he shares a selection of tracks that have special significance for him, and explains why they are so important. Among his choices, classics from Goldie, Brian Eno, Carl Craig and Vangelis - as well as a fair few artists from the leftfield.
