Peter Allen and Caroline Barker with the day's news and sport. The Conservative MP and former deputy speaker of the Commons Nigel Evans has been cleared of all sex abuse charges against him. He was accused of committing a total of nine sexual offences against seven men over a ten year period. It's being claimed the UK may have wasted nearly half a billion pounds stockpiling a flu drug that could be no better than paracetamol at reducing symptoms. The Cochrane Collaboration suggests Tamiflu does not prevent the spread of flu or reduce complications. Oscar Pistorius has been been forced to defend his character as he faced a second day of challenging cross examination at his murder trial in Pretoria.
