His research takes him to St Louis, Missouri, which was struck by a devastating cholera epidemic in 1849. Chris uncovers a moving memoir that details his great-great-grandfather's selfless role helping the sick and dying. When he digs deeper, Chris finds out that his ancestor also played an important role in the Mexican-American War that defined the borders of modern America. Skipping back two more generations, Chris discovers an equally brave and patriotic ancestor who served in the War of 1812 which consolidated America's independence from Britain. Following the trail to Baltimore, Chris uncovers an extraordinary connection to one of the most iconic battles in American history.
